HalalOne is a free educational app that helps you understand ingredients in packaged food. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track your activities. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
When you create an account: your email and name. When you use the app: your scan history (products you've scanned, ingredients, verdicts). If you use the app as a guest: a random device ID, so we can show your scan history without an account. If you send feedback: your message, and your email if you are logged in. If you submit a product to Discover: the product details and photos you add, and your name only if you choose to show it publicly.
We use your information to: (1) let you log in, (2) save and show your scan history, (3) improve the app's accuracy, (4) review and publish Discover submissions, (5) read and respond to your feedback. We will NEVER sell or rent your data, and we never share it with advertisers or marketing companies.
Some features use AI from Anthropic (Claude). Questions you send in AI chat are sent to Anthropic only to generate an answer; we don't store your chat messages. Photos you submit to Discover are sent to Anthropic only to check that they show a food product or halal label. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf and not for advertising. Product barcodes you scan are looked up in the public OpenFoodFacts database; no personal information is sent with them.
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers (EU-based). We use encryption to protect your information in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
You can delete your account anytime from Settings → Profile → Delete Account. When you delete, your personal information (email, name) is removed immediately. Your scan history may be kept anonymously for research, as permitted by law.
This app has no advertising, no tracking cookies, and no analytics that identify you personally. We never monitor what you do or sell your data to marketers.
